Twin it to win it

Twin it to win it

It’s about high time for a new blog post! I’ve been busy but sewed some new items that I will show you soon. To start with this nice T-shirt. I made it in the same fabric as my boyfriend’s tee, since the remnant was gifted to me. Not really planning on twinning though, although that may be in fashion :p

Lace Racerback Tank – Marbella 2.0

Lace Racerback Tank – Marbella 2.0

Spring has just come around, but I already got summer vibes again. Every now and then it is already nice and warm outside, and for those times I would like to wear something that looks dressed, but in which my arms still get a bit tanned. It was time for Marbella 2.0. I chose a different lace back option, because I didn’t have any racerback tops yet. Now I do! Now I want to make at least 10 more… Luckily this pattern also turns out to be a perfect scrap buster!

Dog Weather – Cheerful Blouse

Dog Weather – Cheerful Blouse

Yes! Spring has finally arrived! High time for a new top indeed, made out of this cheerful crepe with dog print. The pattern I used comes from My Image issue #16, model M1811. The only change I made is adding an elastic band in the hem. In this blog I teach you how to do that to any pattern. I am very happy with the result, although there were some bumps on the road. It really fits well with my figure and the time of year!

That’s why I worked myself through my huge stock of pattern magazines last week, looking for nice patterns to use with those fabrics. And at the same time looking for potential basic patterns of course, like I mentioned in my previous post (more on that later). It was quite some work and I did not find suitable patterns for all the fabrics, but I still made some nice combinations that I can work with. As I wrote on Instagram, I can’t handle all the uncertainties of new…

Mica T-shirt (Free pattern)

Mica T-shirt (Free pattern)

Do you know the term ‘’UFO’’? No, then I don’t intend spaceships. Online this term is often used to describe UnFinished Objects: Sewing projects in which you get distracted halfway and lay in the closet unfinished. I personally have a few UFOs laying around. Some of them even are a couple years old already. In most of those cases I gave up hope to ever finish them, because the result will probably not be worth it… The T-shirt I’m showing you today, was a UFO for a couple of months as well. Luckily for this one, it always was the plan to still finish it, but my rehousing and trip…
